Some explainations
* The Coteaux du Layon is an AOC, made with 100 % Chenin.
In the region are produced standard Coteaux du Layon and some of higher quality. These ones come from few indexed villages and, to make the difference, have the right to add the name of the village where they are produced : Chaume, Faye d’Anjou, Rablay sur Layon, Rochefort sur Loire, Saint Aubin de Luigné, Saint Lambert du Lattay, Beaulieu sur Layon…that’s all !
* “Canelle” : it is the name of the Cuvée
=> ”One “n” but two “l”" : it is a poetic way to express different things. In french “Canelle” sounds like “cannelle” which means “cinnamon”. In fact ”Canelle” is the name of the winemaker’s daughter.
